The Times Of India has launched a search engine for the Rs. 1.1 lakh that is currently on sale on the online auction site Roku.
The site, which was launched on August 29, was created by the government and the National Electronics Device Manufacturing Corporation to assist small businesses in locating and selling electronic devices.
The search engine has been launched in two phases.
First, a team will use its data to scan the site, and, if it finds an item that matches the query, it will send it to the manufacturer.
The search engine then displays a price and price range on the main page.
A total of 15 items are listed for sale on Roku at the moment.
The company says the search engine is not meant to be a money-making platform.
“Our goal is to provide a platform where a user can go and search for and buy electronic devices online, from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000, without spending a cent,” said Anupam K, managing director at Roku, in a statement.
