BYLINE: Mar 25, 2019 08:25:23The news of a billion-dollar merger between Facebook and Instagram is nothing new, but the news of how much the two companies will pay each other is new.
It all started in July when Facebook said it was acquiring Instagram for $1.5 billion.
The two companies have been working together on the photo-sharing platform, which is expected to be rolled out worldwide this fall.
But there is one big difference between the two.
Instagram’s revenue is almost entirely based on advertising.
Facebook does not.
The two companies say they will continue to work together on product, marketing and other business functions.
But it is not clear if they will share the revenues.
